With the re-launch and limited release of audio trailers for A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audioWise Words Media‘s A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audio celebrates 10 years of The Turl Times and the international team of creatives behind it.

For content makers and content creative’s, there’s never been a better time to approach audience’s around the globe.

Audiences are literally captive. House-bound. Hungering for fresh, unique and high-quality content backed by market-tested cred, presented by trusted, well-known brands that have commercial traction, longevity and deep industry-credibility.

Wise Words Media‘s family of brands are not just story-telling vehicles – they are stories waiting to be told. Multiple times to multiple audiences. Across integrated, multiple platforms. Over and over and over again.

The Turl Times breathed life and creative soul into A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audio“, says Wise Words Media‘s Sean McIntyre,  creative producer and founder of A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS. “The audio trailers released today include HARVESTREUNION.RED.CIRCLE.THREE, HOW TO KILL YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER and ADDICT”.

“Each of these scripts began life as a short story in The Turl Times “.

Sean McIntyre says he owes thanks and gratitude not only to founding editor Mr Jackie Lee King and their creative writing colleagues, but also the creative industries professionals and mentors at Oxford University’s prestigious Exeter College.

Oxford University’s Exeter College was a hot-bed of creative, inspirational activity. We all flourished as creatives and people”, says Wise Words Media‘s Sean McIntyre. “In many ways, the environment was like a start-up incubator – the group’s talent, creative abilities and professional intellect was apparent to all of us from the moment we all met. It felt like our creative identities were being turbo-charged forward into very exciting areas and new directions. As collaborators, we were as thick as thieves”.

The mutual energy was harnessed and channelled by founding editor, Jackie Lee King, into The Turl Times  – a monthly publication of short stories offering a rotating who’s who of guest editors.  Sean McIntyre says one of the greatest achievements of The Turl Times for founding editor Jackie Lee King was progression towards listing The Turl Times for academic searches with The Library of Congress, America’s oldest federal cultural institution.

Wise Words Media officially launched A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audio with the release of the first audio trailer for KIDS (or games before hometime) on Tuesday August 29, 2017. The audio was recorded on Monday 26th September, 2016.

“For this special, limited release of audio trailers for A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audio, we’re letting loose the KIDS again”, says Sean McIntyre. As the first audio / visual trailer to be released, KIDS (or games before hometime) also marked official announcements around the evolution of Wise Words Media:

  • Wise Words Media became a creative industries production house during 2016
  • A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS – in addition to its role as a proven script development incubator for theatre and film, officially evolved into a production and distribution vehicle of audio content
  • A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS v2.audio – established as a production vehicle for extensive audio projects based around themes of social inclusion

Sean McIntyre says the limited release will be staggered over coming weeks and months. It’s also likely to be rolled out to include participating creatives from A FISTFUL OF SCRIPTS – the live event script reading series he founded and created in July, 2010 at Theatreworks, St Kilda (Melbourne, Australia).

“In all honesty, the limited release of these trailers is for the benefit and enjoyment of my nephews, good friends and colleagues from the 2010 Creative Writing course held during July to August, 2010 at Exeter College, Oxford University“, says Sean McIntyre.

“We are scattered all over the globe. All of us beset with the various challenges brought on by CoVid-19 in our respective countries. My aim is to simply provide some cheer and distraction for everyone in lockdown – whatever stage that may be at”.

“For now I want to say to everyone from my time at Oxford University, including all contributors and readers of The Turl Times – I wish you all the best, I am thinking of you all and hope you are in the best of rude health”.

“Keep pushing at The Gate”.

We write ’em. They read ’em. You hear ’em.

Writers rode into town with a fistful of scripts and went lookin’ for actors and directors. When they got together all hell broke loose. Now they’ve formed a posse. When they find The Audience… anything could happen.

Starring Writers that write ’em, Actors that read ’em and Directors that direct ’em. Special guest appearance by The Audience that hears ‘em.

A 100% non-profit production, ‘A Fistful of Scripts‘ acknowledges the kind assistance of Theatre Works, St Kilda.

The driving philosophy and rationale behind ‘A Fistful of Scripts‘ is to take the work out to the audience. We write ’em. They read ’em. You hear ’em.
