MUSIC - Exclusive | AM Music’s New Video Is All About ‘Self Preservation'
Californian music outfit AM is proud to announce the release of its new video for ‘Self Preservation.

Yet to tour Australia, AM is busy building a solid supporter base.  And the music clip is bound to attract attention on a local and global basis.

We can’t wait to enjoy the live sounds of AM.  All going well, by the time they get here, the troubled live music scene in Melbourne will be a distant memory.

We want with punters flocking to see AM and emulate such luminary acts as The White Stripes at The Tote or joining The Rolling Stones and U2 as famous faces that have had warm-up gigs at The Corner Hotel.

For now, our USA readers can enjoy AM at Troubadour 2/ 27/10, Performing live on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic 3/3/2010.  AM tours with AIR 3/12/10.

Purchase a CD or sample AM's a new video:'Self Preservation'.

ABOUT AM
Tulsa-born and New Orleans-raised, and current Echo Park resident and indie artist AM brings a heady brew the band calls "Indie Lounge Pop", which is a twinkling Anglified folk-rock-pop, caressing Philly soul and funky R&B whatchacallit -- and, best of all, joyously unheard points in-between.

AM does all this with an acute, finessing ear for the ancient art of real, true songcraft. Sure, AM's very personal brand of pop is sturdily built, but so are Mack trucks. What we'd like to point your attention to are the brashly bold new shapes he brings to bear on the modern pop song, with, arguably, some of the best bridges and choruses in the bizness.

Superbly, subtly drawn arrangements of said material, whether drawing from the Beatles and Badfinger or Curtis Mayfield and Jorge Ben, demonstrate over and again this simple fact of songwriting life: that Imagination and taste is what it's all about . . . and these are, of course, things you couldn't buy with all the gold in the realm.

If we were to, say, compare AM’s sophomore release Future Sons & Daughters to some mode of transportation, it would be something like a sonic vessel, transporting listeners across a sometimes tropical, otherwise Western-tinged, peaceful but swinging sea of cross-genre waters to a synaesthetic land of sunny melodies and easy beats.
